'Pain' of Sri Lanka aid pullout

'Pain' of Sri Lanka aid pullout
Fears of a humanitarian crisis are mounting in northern Sri Lanka as troops press ahead with an offensive to capture territory from Tamil rebels. A week ago the UN and other agencies pulled out of the area, where more than 200,000 people are displaced by fighting. Here one aid worker describes how hard it was to leave.
During my last weeks in Kilinochchi there was a foreboding sense of a massive army approaching from the south-west.

Troops are now near Kilinochchi
We left a number of our staff, who could not get passes, behind. We shared tears, we shared the feelings of terror and intense guilt, and we left.
I remember feeling deep shame as I drove past civilians who were watching me from the side of the road, in my ballistic vest, heading for safety, as they stood there in their trousers and shirts and saris. We drove through the site of a fresh air attack on the A9 road and once again saw the devastation it caused and understood what may come for Kilinochchi and its civilian population.
Although I appreciate and respect the security rules that govern aid workers and understand why we had to leave, I still have to deal with a great sense that I abandoned those people. There is the pain and guilt of saying goodbye and good luck to our staff who had worked so hard and with such passion for the victims of war in the Vanni - and leaving them behind.

End of LTTE and more autonomy for Tamil dominated areas. Violence has no place in a civil society.

Mr. Chawla
as an indian your response, "End of LTTE and more autonomy for Tamil dominated areas. Violence has no place in a civil society" may sound sweet for any 'patrotic indian.' However, if you look back pre-83 in sri lanka; there was no LTTE. Yet, Tamil were killed and their regions were colonised. Look at this point. While you preach your 'peaceful sermon' what is really going on in tamil regions. See how the things are demographically changed in the East of Lanka, and how are the people in Do you really feel that only LTTE is to be elimianted? what about the masskilling SL Army, Navy and Air Force? Do you have any condemning word for them?Yes, I can not expact anythign from a blindfolded Indian patriotic parrot like you. However you should be reminded at least for a moment about your hypocritical words. Shame on YOU! If you are really interested on stopping the war, why don't you ask your government to stop aiding anf abetting SL government in killing its own Tamil civivilans? You won't.
You are just another hollier than thou Indian, who wants to masquarding wellwisher of sri lankans, but you yourself know that you're not. Your government wants to take credits for creating LTTE at the same time you want to help the SL government to eradicate LTTE. What kind of non violence is it? You are a hypocritic in my point of view with your placibo panacea response. To tell this insipid response, we do not need a hollier than thou, but just my two year old daughter is enough. Rather than giving such flat preaching, why don't you go and ask Indian media to provide its own independant news. At this moment what it only does is parroting Indian Stand like US media in the beginning of Iraq Invasion. Why can't you ask Mr. Ram of Frontline to behave like a journalist rather than a messenger for SL Government to India? People like you are scared of Truth. Anything that may harm your own interest (mind here, it is not the interest fo the people of India, but people like you, who earn their livelihood by selling peace panasea in the expense of the wrath of many innocent people) can be named and villified as you want. You preach about civil society. Look at Manipur and Kashmire and what your Armed forces do. Look at Gujarat what Modi does. Look at Mumbai. What Thackery does. Look at the northeast of the tiny island, how the people are killed by their so-called government. You talk loud and shamelessly about "Violence has no place in the society." SHAME ON YOU Mr. Chawla, SHAME On YOU. Where were you when your IPKF raped, mimed and massacred The tamils of that Island? Defending your PIECE (sic) Keeping Forces' action? You like many in the Indian Media are nothing but a breadwinner from others sorrows by defending your own agenda. That's all I have learnt. Keep on preaching. You can not cheat the people beyond a limit. Hope even if you miss to see how the people ignore you within your lifetime, your own children and grandchildren will ripe the sour fruits of your cheating_your_own_country mean & women.
Now go on... send this comment to trash pin as most of the "honest partriotic Indian Midia middle man and woman."
Thank you.

Sir, also see how Raj Chengappa of Outlook reports from East of Lanka. He wants to show to Indian readers that lanka east got liberated from LTTE. At the same time, he very cleverly put all the muders and robberies that are done by Bearded Navy personnels, Karuna Group, Pilliyan Group and EPDP as of LTTE.
There is lawlessness in the region with the LTTE indulging in robbery and even murders.
After all, reading recent Human Rights report by generally Anti-LTTE UTHR would give any person of who does what in the east.
Notepad carrying dishonest Reporters like Raj Chengappa are more dangerous than any terrorist with real weaponeries.
